: March 2007 Dreamed of adopting a little girl for a very long time. Decided timing now is
perfect. Have a great husband, 2 wonderful sons, own a lovely home, and
husband has a great job, i am also very lucky to be able to be a full time mum.
: August 2007 Rang Adoption Board. Told next information meeting will not be until
November. Total 9 mth wait , told lady yes please keep our names down.
: Novem 2007 Attended information meeting. Very interesting but we were both scared to
ask questions in case they were silly. We were asked to write a letter saying
if we want to go ahead of not. Of course we want to go ahead!!!!
: Novem 2007 Next day we hand deliver a letter saying so.
: Novem 2007 3 weeks later we receive our 'pack' requesting loads of information.
marriage certs, birth certs, employment letter, doctor reports etc etc.
Luckily I had a lot of this information ready.
: Decem 2007 Two weeks after receiving 'pack' we hand deliver all documents to adoption
board. I call them the next day to confirm everything ok.
: Jan 2008 Call adoption board see if everything is in order. Told that they have all
consultant forms back just waiting on Garda Clearance which take a while
as Gardai as so busy. Just have to wait,
: April 2008 Yipppeeeeeee!!! Garda Clearances are back. Just have to wait now to
hear when we will be called for preparation course. Secretary told me
it looks like being the end of 2009!!!??????? Oh my goodness that is
so far far away. But what can we do, we just have to wait and keep fingers
and toes crossed.
: May 2008 Can't believe it. Secretary called preparation courses have speeded up a bit.
Says we are now down to attend our course this September 2008 !!! That's
much better. Delighted with this news, we are very lucky.
